So far nature always has put continuous and enormous impact on the overhead lines. Extreme climatic conditions in Northern Region of India and costal climate down South & West or other forms of pollution contribute largely in the degradation of not only towers but also line accessories. Other then to monitor the effects of various environmental factors on its overhead lines and power utility, it has to be ensured that local effects like vandalism and pollution do not appear at all, or even if they do, effects should be marked in the least possible time.
